Privacy Policy

1. The Short Version

We built Aether for creators, not data brokers. We do not sell your personal data, we do not run advertisements, and we do not share your private saved shoot locations with anyone. Your data is used exclusively to power the app's features and manage your subscription.

2. Data We Collect

Account Data: We collect your email address and a secure password hash to authenticate your account across devices.
Location Data: When you grant location permissions, we use your device's coordinates to fetch hyper-local atmospheric and drone data from our third-party APIs (Tomorrow.io, NOAA, FAA). This data is processed in real-time and cached temporarily.
Saved Pins: Locations you explicitly save are synced securely to our database (Supabase) to enable cross-device syncing and offline pre-fetching. Only you can access your saved pins.

3. Payment Processing

Aether utilizes the "reader app" model. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Aether does not process, store, or have access to your credit card information. We only store a secure token that confirms your subscription status.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide accurate scores, Aether sends geographic coordinates to third-party weather and airspace APIs. These requests contain coordinates only and are stripped of any personally identifiable information (PII).

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You may request full account deletion at any time via your account dashboard. Upon deletion, all personal data, including your saved locations and preferences, will be permanently purged from our servers within 30 days in compliance with GDPR and CCPA standards.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Aether website (aether.grantfloyd.com) or using the Aether iOS application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.

2. Subscription & "Reader App" Model

Aether operates on a subscription basis. Subscriptions must be created and managed via our secure web portal. The iOS app acts as a "reader app" providing access to the service upon verifying your web subscription. All sales are final. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

3. No Liability for Environmental Conditions

The Aether App and the Nebula Engine provide atmospheric predictions based on third-party meteorological and geomagnetic data. Weather is inherently unpredictable. Grant Floyd and Aether make no guarantees regarding the accuracy of Aurora, Sky Clarity, or Golden Hour scores. We are not liable for missed photographic opportunities, travel expenses, or any damages resulting from reliance on our forecasts.

4. Critical Notice for Drone Operators

Aether's Drone Operations overlay provides supplemental data including airspace classifications and wind models. Aether is NOT a substitute for official pre-flight briefings or pilot judgment.

You, the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC), are solely responsible for ensuring flight safety and regulatory compliance (e.g., FAA Part 107).
Grant Floyd and Aether accept zero liability for property damage, personal injury, fines, or loss of equipment resulting from drone flights conducted while using the app.

5. "As Is" Software

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Aether makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the continuous availability of the app, backend scoring engine, or offline synchronization features.

6. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, including but not nilited to sharing account credentials or attempting to reverse-engineer the proprietary Nebula scoring algorithm.
